Ich hab gerade mal wieder einen Bericht über das Google Projekt Google Summer of Code gelesen hier mal ein kurzer Auszug um was es sich dabei handelt von der Offiziellen Google Homepage.

About Google Summer of Code Google Summer of Code is a global program that offers student developers stipends to write code for various open source software projects. We have worked with several open source, free software, and technology-related groups to identify and fund several projects over a three month period. Since its inception in 2005, the program has brought together nearly 2500 successful student participants and 2500 mentors from 98 countries worldwide, all for the love of code. Through Google Summer of Code, accepted student applicants are paired with a mentor or mentors from the participating projects, thus gaining exposure to real-world software development scenarios and the opportunity for employment in areas related to their academic pursuits. In turn, the participating projects are able to more easily identify and bring in new developers. Best of all, more source code is created and released for the use and benefit of all.

Diese Jahr ist die Bewerbung leider schon beendet. Aber vielleicht wäre es mal eine Idee das sich das Projekt Simultrans nächstes Jahr bewirbt um neue talentierte Entwickler auf Simultrans aufmerksam zu machen die das Projekt zusätzlich unterstützen?

Wer soll die Mentoren? Schließlich ist das fast so aufwending (am Anfang) wie selber machen ... Ich hätte nicht die Zeit dazu.

Die meisten Projekte bei Google Summer of Code sind eher Libraries oder für größere (Semi-)professionelle Teams. (Mal ganz abgesehen, das Simutrans schon recht komplett ist und wir keine Raodmap zum Ausfüllen haben. Wenn Google summer of Code, dann für sowas wie 3D engine, und da wären die GRafiken vermutlich eher das Problem.)

Kann ich vollkommen verstehen wenn es zu viel Arbeit ist ja auch nur ein Hobby Projekt wie du schon sagst. Damit hat sich das ganze auch schon erledigt wollen dann ja nicht unnötig spekulieren.
